VICA
As the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA), we serve the construction community: the institutional, commercial, industrial, civil and multi-residential construction sectors on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and other coastal areas of British Columbia. VICA members come from all areas of the construction community.

ICBA
For more than 40 years, the Independent Contractors and Business Association (ICBA) has been the voice of B.C.’s construction industry. Today, ICBA represents more than 2,000 members and clients, is one of the leading third-party providers of group health and retirement benefits in B.C., and the single largest sponsor of apprentices in the province. ICBA undertakes public policy research and advocacy focused on the construction sector and responsible resource development.

Apprenticeship & Training
ITA
The Industry Training Authority (ITA) leads and coordinates British Columbia’s skilled trades system. ITA works with employers, apprentices, industry, labour, training providers and government to issue credentials, support apprenticeships, fund programs, set program standards and increase opportunities in the trades.

Builders Code
The Builders Code sets a standard code of conduct for workers on construction sites in BC. It defines an “Acceptable Worksite” as the starting point for reducing risk and ensuring a safe and productive environment for all workers. The Builders Code helps employers communicate a clear behaviour standard to improve safety, productivity, and retention, while reducing project risk.

Health & Safety Program
COR
The management of Blue Anvil is committed to safety excellence and a goal of zero injuries or accidents in the workplace. Blue Anvil designs and centres its safety policies around the COR program, with a goal of becoming COR certified. The Certificate of Recognition (COR) is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes companies who implement strong health, safety, and injury management systems to reduce both the human and financial cost of workplace injuries.
