Finding The Right Worker Starts Here

At Blue Anvil, we go beyond simply filling roles—we connect you with dependable professionals who integrate seamlessly into your team and contribute to long-term success. This month, we’re highlighting two standout workers, Spencer and Nic, who are ready for their next placement.

Blue Anvil's Apprentice Spancer

Spencer - The Underdog Who Over Delivers

From Apprentice To Essential Team Player

Spencer joined Blue Anvil in late June and has quickly proven himself to be a rising star. Now finishing his first semester of school where he’s balancing hands-on experience with foundational training in the classroom.

While still early in his career, Spencer has already worked across a variety of job sites and has shown impressive adaptability. He’s the kind of worker who steps up without hesitation. Our clients consistently praise him for “always putting his best foot forward and giving 100%.”

Spencer brings experience in hard work and consistency, is Fall Protection certified, and has a willingness to learn. He’ll be ready for his next placement as soon as he wraps up his first year of training—and we know he’ll hit the ground running.

Blue Anvil's Apprentice Nick

Nick - The Experienced Professional

A Skilled Carpenter With A Proven Track Record

By May 2025, Nick will mark a year with Blue Anvil—and in that time, he’s consistently exceeded expectations. A seasoned journeyman carpenter, Nick brings deep field experience, strong work ethic, and the ability to handle any challenge with confidence and precision.

Currently working toward his Red Seal, Nick is studying to challenge the first and 2nd year exams. After that we will evaluate whether he continues to challenge the exams or if we will go to school for years 3 and 4. This is Nick’s quest  to bring his schooling up to the level of his skill. This is a testament to his advanced skill level and dedication to his craft. While his formal education is still underway, his extensive on-site experience speaks volumes.

Nick is known for his independence, reliability, and the consistent quality of his work. He often stays on-site longer than initially planned, earning trust and praise from every client he works with. A favorite among supervisors and crews alike, Nick is a top-tier carpenter and a dependable, hardworking professional we're proud to have on the Blue Anvil team.

Adapting To The Changing Workforce

Over the next ten years, the labour market is set to undergo major transformation—and businesses that plan ahead will be best positioned to thrive. According to the BC Labour Market Outlook (2024 Edition):

  • 1,120,000 job openings are expected over the next ten years.

  • 60% of these openings will be due to retirements, creating gaps in experienced workers

  • Only 40% of new positions will come from economic expansion, making workforce planning essential

  • 47% of new job seekers will be under 29, requiring businesses to adapt to a younger, less experienced talent pool.

For industries like construction, which will need to replace 57,900 workers, companies must start proactively preparing their workforce strategies now.
